Holistic Therapies and Services

My interest in a more holistic approach to health began fifteen years ago, soon after talking to a Reiki practitioner in the grounds of a college where I worked at that time.
It was a meeting which really triggered many changes in my life.

I was fascinated by the idea of 'energy healing' or 'energy medicine' as it was explained to me then, over a decade ago. My initial scepticsm turned to curiosity. An interest was sparked, marking the start of a journey of exploration into the world of holistic approaches to health. This led to many doors opening as I began to gain a deeper understanding of the healing process, which later led to my changing direction in life. I work as a holistic learning facilitator and therapist. I am a qualified Reiki Master / Practitioner, Hypnotherapist and trained Bach Flower Therapist ( Dr Edward Bach Foundation). My work introduces me to people from all walks of life, who are trying to improve and maintain a more balanced state of health, particularly those interested in the health benefits of more natural approaches to achieving 'balance' within their lives.

In March 2010, I began Astro-shamanic training with Franco Santoro, Shamanic Facilitator & Experiential Astrologer at the Findhorn Community in northern Scotland. In the summer of 2010 I will be launching a series of shamanic dance workshops - "Astro-dance Hollistics" (provisional) in Darlington, Hartlepool and Durham for people interested in learning more about experiential astrology and the shamanic experience. I work from my family home in Croft, close to the banks of the River Tees near Darlington, County Durham. Croft-On-Tees is well known, not only for once being the childhood home village of the writer and poet, Lewis Carroll, but also the location of the Croft Spa healing waters. It was here that many Victorian visitors from all over the country, stayed for short health 'retreats' and to take the health-promoting sulphuric waters of the famous Croft Spa. "The chief interest of the place lies in its spa. The air is pure, the surrounding scenery picturesque and vast numbers visit the place annually for the benefit of its waters" (Bulmers's 1890 History and Directory of the North Riding) In researching the history of our family home, we discovered that it was once used to provide accomodation to some of the summer visitors to Croft Spa! So there is an interesting history and tradition of visitors to Croft village and our home for health retreats.

The initial consultation fee for an individual, confidential appointment is £40
and usually lasts for just over an hour.
